Hi-Definition Laser VisionTM
By combining the more advanced non-cutting techniques with CustomVue WaveFront, Dr. Chynn and Park Avenue Laser Vision are able to make most patients see better than they ever did—often better than 20/20! This is called Hi-Definition Laser VisionTM –and we are the only center in New York City to offer this!
In CustomVue, an individualized map is taken that measures all the visual imperfections of your eye at 500 different points. This WaveMap is 25 times more accurate than glasses or contacts (it measures your prescription to the nearest 0.01D, not +/- 0.25, like glasses or contacts). The WaveMap is saved on a FlashDrive, which is inserted into the laser to guide your custom treatment—treating each area uniquely.
The problem with LASIK is that, by cutting into your cornea, your WaveMap is distorted and changed—so the WaveMap that was taken before the cut (which is no longer accurate) is the one used to treat your eyes!
In contrast, Dr. Chynn’s advanced surgical techniques involve no cutting—so your WaveMap is perfectly accurate and undistorted by any cut—so when it is used to guide your laser, the result is simply perfect!
