Is Laser Vision Correction really safe?

Will my results be permanent, or will I have to get it “redone” in the future?
The laser works by removing tissue, to put your prescription directly onto your eye (like a built-in contact). There is absolutely no way for your prescription to “come back” because the cornea has no ability to regrow.
Your chance of needing an “enhancement” is extremely low—between 1% and 5% in most cases. This means that you will have a 95% - 99% chance of never needing an enhancement for the rest of your life! J

The procedure is absolutely painless—we give you an anesthetic drop to fully numb your eye. We give every patient as much Valium as necessary to make them feel relaxed—you even feel a little sleepy. You will have a loved one with you in the OR for “moral support.” We will play your iPod or favorite CD. A gentle device will help keep your eyes open. The laser has a tracker to follow your eye if it moves a bit. The laser will automatically shut off if you move too much; Dr. Chynn will finish the rest once you look straight.
